have had a leatherman for years. The first leatherman I gave to my son and he took it to the military as an electronic tech. finding it extremely useful. Now it is used extensively in the military. Meanwhile I replaced that one with the super tool 300 (one of the original ones).
In Australia I found the police liked the super tool and I showed mine to friends there, that is why I bought it to send to my friend.
My tool has been used hard for many years and has never need repairing despite having a lifetime guarantee which they honor with no questions.

As far a multitools go this is the best one for the tradesman. Different models meet different needs. It all depends on what your needs will be. As far as someone in the trades is concerned the leatherman super tool 300 fits more needs than any other multi-tool out there, but this isn't to put down other models or makes out there. Before I bought I looked and handled all the other models and makes. In the final decision it was between the super tool 300 and the surge model. What broke the tie was the replacement cutter blades and lack of scissors. Once you damage unreplaceable cutting blades your stuck with trying to fix them yourselves. And scissors are rarely used in trades work. In my opinion leatherman makes the best multi tools. Victorinox also makes a great tool but it does fit the needs of the trades like the leatherman does. Understand a multi tool will never replace a purpose built dedicated tool for the job. A multi tool is something you will want with you at all times when you are without your dedicated tools.

This tool is very well built and all of the tools inside are put there for real use. I own a Kick, Wave, SkeletoolCX, Surge and the Supertool 300. All have a purpose, but if I am doing dedicated hard work this is on my side. Buy it
I have to say though, that the 300 has been an excellent decision.


Since I got it two weeks ago we've gutted and rebuilt our basement, and done a lot of work on our kitchen cabinets. My new Leatherman has been at my side for both, and performed admirably.


I've never even felt like I was anywhere near breaking anything, and have been impressed by the build quality of every tool I've used. Notably, the phillips head screwdriver is full size, not one of those flat ones that never work quite right!


It's a little large, but that's actually been nice when I've felt the need to bang on something with it like it's a hammer.
